How To Apply
We have a two-stage application process. The step-by-step guide below explains the application process. It is important to check the deadline dates for the Trustee meetings and allow plenty of time to prepare and submit your application.
Before completing the online application: We strongly advise that you read all of the information on our What We Fund page to ensure that your project is eligible and meets with our funding criteria.
Application Process
Grant Application Form
Complete and submit the online Stage 1 Grant Application Form (using the link after Step 5 please note this will only be visible when the application window is open), or click here to preview the online application form.
All applicants are required to complete the online application form which enables us to make an initial assessment and decide whether to take your application to the second stage. After completing and submitting your form you will receive an acknowledgement email which includes a copy of the data submitted. This will be followed up by the Trust Administrator.
Second stage of the application
If your application is to be submitted for consideration by the Trustees you will be invited to complete a Stage 2 Application. This will be emailed to you and must be returned by post with supporting documentation and recent accounts.
A Visit
We often ask one of our independent advisers to visit for a further assessment of applications. We will notify you in advance if a visit is to be arranged.
Your fundraising progress
In between submitting your second stage application and it being considered by the Trustees, we ask that you keep us updated about the progress of your fundraising or any changes to the application. It is important that the information submitted to the Trustees is accurate and up to date.
Notification of Funding Decisions
You will be informed of the Trustees’ decision as soon as possible after their meeting. If your application is successful you will receive a letter outlining the terms of the grant.
When to submit your application
The Trustees are meeting throughout 2026 – see the below table for dates as they are announced – to consider all eligible funding requests received since their last meeting.
The Trustees prefer to support projects that will take place, or start, within six months of receiving the grant.
It is therefore important when applying to be clear about time scales and confident they will fit in with the timings of the meetings.
You should allow plenty of time before the Stage 1 deadline date to prepare and submit your application.
